They set up an informal structure for mutual support, globally. They effectively created a global evangelical prayer movement.

On my desk beside my computer I keep a piece of the Berlin Wall which had once divided Germany, East from West. I picked this piece of the wall up on one of my ministry trips To Germany just after the Wall had come down.
