Name of National Alliance: Estonian Evangelical Alliance
In Estonia the EEA works very closely with the Council of Churches and with other organisations. The Estonian EA has 6 denominations as members: Evangelical Lutheran Church, United Methodist Church, Evangelican Christians - Baptists, Christian Pentecostal Church, Union of Free Evangelical Churches and the Charismatic Episcopal Churches. At the Alliance prayer week and our Nation Prayer Breakfast and local prayer breakfasts (organized by the EEA) The Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church participate too. Our website: www.allianss.ee
Estonia is the most secular country in Europe based the latest surveys. But we still see God's Holy Spirit working in new ways. The most wonderful things are good relations between ALL denominations, great success of ALFA course in many churches, youth events.
The Eastonian EA organizes these above mentioned prayer breakfasts, and joint
alliance services with Catholics and Orthodox participating and even at Catholic and Orthodox churches. The Estonian EA has very high profile among Estonian Christians as in the whole country. Most recently the EEA organized very succcesful Alliance conference GRACE with Hillsong Church from Australia - over 3000 people attending.
Our primary challenge is to overcome the secular mindsets and "neutrality" of many people.
Our biggest opportunity is to be on the front line with the Council of Churches, to have ALL denominations working with us.
Current Prayer Requests:
- As we have very good relations between all churches some people do not feel the need for Alliance as we are united with each other already so well.
- we need more co-operation with Russian speaking churches.
